Thanks for the comments! I think the name comes from long ago before a lot of infill along the waterfront when this street was right upon the water, making it the 'front' or 'fore' street in relation to the harbor. It's one of the older roads on the peninsula.
This is the kind of photo I can look at a long time...so many interesting things! Why "Fore" street?
