I was photographing these pumpkins on South Street this afternoon when a passerby strolled into the frame. An all-black cat would have been fitting for today, but a black and white mix works too.

Old Port Armory
The front entrance of the Portland Regency Hotel & Spa, located in an old National Guard armory building. Per their website, "the neo-classical 'State of Maine Armory' was built in 1895 at a cost of $20,000. At the time, it was considered one of the finest and best-equipped armories in New England."

Birds Over Chestnut Street
Walking down Chestnut Street last evening I noticed a flock of birds flying around the old Chestnut Street church. Every 15 seconds or so they would fly up over the front of the church so I had time to get in position for this angle. The moody clouds helped to complete the photo.

Portland Head Light - Looking Down

Ford's Corner
The John Ford statue sitting at the corner of Pleasant & York Streets. Ford was a renowned film director who grew up in Portland in the early 20th century.
