Ford Came Back
The cherry blossoms are starting to appear behind the John Ford statue at Gorham's Corner. Mr. Ford, a Portland native, is one of the directors featured in the new Netflix series "Five Came Back." The shows looks at the contributions of five famous directors during World War II.

American Dream Rising
A building rising behind "The American Dream" sculpture in Lincoln Park. One of the questions asked by Judith Hoffman, the artist of the piece, is "how does a society that so highly values the material gain embodied in home ownership transcend self-interest and become community?" The contrast with the new construction, a shared living space (albeit an luxurious one), caught my eye. You can read more about the sculpture here.
