This is from Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth, near the (world?) famous Portland Head Light, the most photographed lighthouse in America which was commissioned by George Washington back in the day. Anyways, this photo shows an old building that was part of the fort complex which has slowly deteriorated. Fort Williams was commissioned in 1894 and decommissioned in 1963. For more info.

As spotted in the Old Port. Pass at your own risk? Sounds like a dare! For the curious, this is atop a parking complex with ground floor retail and passing this fortified fence leads to a private roof of some sort.

So glad I'm not a sports fan.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember the last time I saw a "pass at your own risk" sign in Boston.
