Portland Now and Then

Here are a few photos from the ever-growing archives of the Portland, Maine History 1786-Present Facebook Group mixed in with my photo from the present day:

State Theater Building

Congress Street

511 Congress Street

Kennebec and Elm Street

  1. You've outdone yourself, Corey! Awesome!! -kw

  2. Wow! These photos are wonderful! I especially like the one of Cushman's Bakery.
Fond memories of my grandmother and I walking there daily to buy either bread
or "something special." Rarely have I seen photos of Cushman's. Thank you, Corey.

  3. Thanks KW and anonymous! These were fun to put together, more to come.

  4. These are so great for so many reasons, Corey. They help us to think about our "place" and the impact of our planning and development decisions through time. I hope you have more to come. Thank you.
