Canal Plaza, located off of Middle Street in the Old Port, is somewhat scenic this time of year with the foliage on the trees.
Also, if you are physically in Portland today you might benefit from this press release on the City's website with some Hurricane Sandy related information. It's starting to get windy outside and it sounds like the main impact of the storm will be felt tomorrow.
Greetings from inside at Canal Plaza, where we are watching the leaves blow from those trees. Lovely shot!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment! Do you have a view of the city from your office? If so, I'd be interested in sharing it for my next "reader photos" post. I would like to get some photos from an upper floor someday if I can think of a good reason to be inside the building.
DeleteThe views from my building (#2) are ok but the best are from the upper floors of #1, the Key Bank building. Key has a conference room on the tenth floor that overlooks the Old Port and harbour and the views are stunning. The views back towards City Hall are excellent too. Those leaves were gone by dark, btw...
DeleteI love this...usually when I'm driving or walking by the last thing I'm doing is having a good look at this space. It's lovely!
ReplyDeleteI remember when Canal Plaza was built and Canal Bank was the anchor. I'm glad they kept the name and didn't go with "Key Bank Plaza" or some other bank-of-the-moment name! I still expect to see "Casco Bank" in Monument Square, "Portland Savings Bank" on the Time/Temp Building and "The One"/Maine Savings Bank on the plaza across from Grants - oops CVS. Love your photos and look forward to them each day. Greetings from Jacksonville, FL.
