This is Emerald City, located at 611 Congress Street in the State Theater Building. I hear it's a good place to start the holiday season shopping.
If you are around town today, the annual tree lighting in Monument Square is at 5:30pm, it's a good event for the family. Also in Monument Square, the Public Library will be having an open house from 3-6pm.
I remember a barber shop just a bit closer to the State Theater that was owned by a violin playing gentleman. He would come out onto the sidewalk and play to entice customers to come in for a haircut. Maybe someone else remembers. He was a shorter man with a full head of white hair and wore the garb of a barber of the day, a white smock.
Clever boy! I love the wizard of Oz treatment in this street photo.
