Fences of Love

Portland now has it's own Fences of Love installation. The fence is located on Commercial Street, next to Portland Lobster Company. These love padlocks are, according to wikipedia, a "custom by which padlocks are affixed to a fence, gate, bridge or similar public fixture by sweethearts at an increasing number of locations in the world to symbolize their everlasting love." I’m not sure who set up our fence,  but it is nice to see Portland joining in on the fun.

  1. Cool shots! I can't wait to see this great looking city in person. I might even contribute to the fence.

  3. Thanks for the comments! I haven't seen any of these installations in person but I've seen pictures of this type of project in other cities. I'm not sure who set it up in Portland but I would like to find out.

    1. Corey...watch the Portland Press Herald tomorrow...someone is about to be outed as part of the renegade group who started this. Hint: the master lock in the middle of your second image is mine (see my original FB post here - https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10200143742929624&set=a.3641178541401.154373.1032439819&type=1&theater)

  4. Cool! Clôtures de l'amour dans 2 de mes villes préférées; Paris et Portland. Je devrais essayer ça, ici, à Montréal!!! Fences of Love in 2 of my favorite cities; Paris and Portland. I should try to start that here, in Montreal!
