Wide Angle Congress Square

I very recently got a new lens, my first real wide-angle (a Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 if you're interested in that kind of stuff). I took it out for a spin tonight and am really impressed with it so far. I guarantee you will be seeing a lot of shots with this lens going forward. It certainly opens up a lot of new creative photo opportunities.

  1. Nice! I read a great review of that lens. Am tempted despite the price.

  2. Thanks for the comment, Eric! I'm still in the honeymoon phase with this lens since it's been under 24 hours and I havent't taken it outside in daylight yet, but I am pretty impressed so far. It is pricey, but I did a lot of research on the web and found it to be the best deal as far as Nikon-compatible ultra wides go (they also make the same lens for Canon, Pentax, etc). I'd keep an eye out for refurbished or gently used copies which are usually good-as-new.

  3. Nice picture. I haven't been to Portland in 2 years. My family enjoyed the 4 hour trip for some weekend fun. I proposed to my wife at the old 3 Dollar Dewey's by putting the ring (in the case) in a bowl of popcorn. Once I become employed (unemployed for a year) We will make the trip to the greatest city in the world.

  4. Thanks, Anonymous. 3 Dollar Dewey's is still around and I bet they would get a kick out of how you proposed to your wife there. I wish you well with your job search and the city of Portland welcomes you anytime. I don't know about greatest city in the world, but it's one of my favorites for sure.
