New & Improved Veterans Bridge

As I mentioned just a couple days ago, the new Veterans Bridge opened today. I included a tour of it on my evening bicycle expedition and snapped a few photos. Construction crews are still finishing up some odds and ends but it's fully open now and worth checking out!

Out Here in the Fields

Two views of Portland from Bug Light Park across the harbor. This was last weekend when the sun was just starting to break through the haziness. 

New Veterans Bridge

Here's a peak at the new Veterans Memorial Bridge that connects Portland and South Portland over the Fore River. According to this article in the Press Herald the bridge opens to the public this Thursday. The improvements for pedestrians and bicycles on the bridge (and their connections on both ends) are my favorite parts of the new design.
