Sticky Snow

A snowy tree in Lincoln Park

Today's Tidbit: Per this item from the Maine Memory Network, there was a winter carnival in Portland in 1924 and they had a special ramp for ski jumpers on the western promenade. Can we bring this back? We'd just have to cut down a few trees I think.

It's raining snow

A few shots from last weekend's snowstorm. I will likely post some more tomorrow.

Also, an ice clearing machine fell through the Deering Oaks pond this morning (no injuries or major damage, the pond is a couple feet deep). I thought it was funny that the Press Herald has a picture of each time this has happend.

Do you remember Walter?

The new Walter's recently opened at 2 Portland Square. Looks like a nice place inside. Check out some wonderful photos of the place here.

I figured I should get another shot of the tree in Monument Square before they take it down. Happy New Year!

Winter People

Just a couple Portland people...

I'm thinking a good new years resolution would be to start taking photographs again, I'll see what I can do.

Old Port Holidays

Taken yesterday, after the first snow event of the season. We only got a few inches but it looks nice.

Back Again

This is just a quick note to announce that the daily photos will begin again before the end of the year. Until then, happy holidays!
