Under Construction: July 2013

Time again to check in on some of the major construction projects happening around the peninsula. I always enjoy seeing photos of buildings that were under construction from long before I was born. It's funny how often when a building is completed it kind of becomes hard to imagine what it was like before it was there. Maybe a hundred years from now someone will stumble upon these photos (presumably in printed form due to the Internet being destroyed in World War IV, the Great War of Canadian Aggression) and they try to imagine what it was like seeing Portland from my perspective. Okay, I'll just share the photos now.

  1. There is a lot of construction happening right now, isn't there? Seems like it was just getting started when I left 10 years ago! -RS

  3. Thanks, RS and kw! Portland does seem to be doing well for a city of our size. I like documenting new buildings as they rise so it works out well for me.

  4. Guess that answers the retail in Phase I of Bay House. Ground floor def set up for that. Let's hope they do a better job pulling tenants there than the garage across from it. I have a feeling you'll see Kamasouptra and/or the next Holy Donut location in there.

Wonder if the corner glass wall will be put into the Hyatt at the end considering they don't wanna smash it
