I'm not sure when the old post office was demolished (long before I was born, I'm guessing the 50's or 60's), but I do know that the space it occupied was a dirt parking lot for a few decades before becoming a nice little park. I think the post office here was a beautiful structure, but the park makes for a nice public area and doesn't make this part of the old port feel any less dense.
