Mills of Biddeford
Continuing my brief tour of Greater Portland, here's a shot of the mills in Biddeford in the early morning.

Pier Sunrise
A pleasant sunrise behind the pier in Old Orchard Beach this morning. Eagle-eyed viewers might have noticed an increase in non-Portland photos recently. This is due to a temporary relocation due to home renovations. It's been nice seeing some different sights but look forward to being back in town soon.

Finally Spring
I took a leisurely bike ride out to Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth on this unseasonably warm first day of April. So glad it's finally spring!

Higgins Beach
Went for a nice bicycle ride down to Higgins Beach in Scarborough this afternoon. It's a fun and easy ride from Downtown Portland.

That's a Paddlin'
Saw some paddle boarders heading out from Two Lights in Cape Elizabeth this afternoon. It looks pretty calm in this picture but there were some impressive waves coming in.

Tip Top View
I don't post photos from outside of Portland too often, but I'll make an exception for some photos from the top of the historic Portland Head Light. After a pretty easy stroll up the spiral staircase, you are treated to this view when stepping outside.

Window to the Sea
Another shot from last week's trip down to South Portland. This view is looking through the old Fort Preble, near Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse.

Looking into the Past: Old Orchard Beach Races
I was able to make a rare trip out of Portland a couple weekends ago and brought along some old-timey photos to play with. The old photo in this one is from 1922 and is from the Maine Historical Society's Maine Memory Network. Apparently the pier used to be the start/finish line for automobile races at the time.

Docked at Cousins Island
I made a trip via bicycle up to Cousins Island in Yarmouth on Saturday. You can see power plant on the island, which is currently just used during peak demand times, from Portland's Eastern Promenade if you look to the north and east.
