At the Co-Op

An exterior view of the Portland Food Co-Op, located at 290 Congress Street. It's nice to have an independent grocery store with lots of local products nearby.

House Island

From Peaks Island, looking towards House Island and the downtown skyline. House Island recently became a designed historic district since "half of the island was part of a network of immigration stations used from the 1890s through the mid-1920."

Sunset at Forest

We've gotten some dramatic sunsets lately, perhaps it's due to the changing of the seasons and the cooler temperatures at night (just a guess). This one is from where Forest Avenue meets Congress Street.

Back Cove, September 2015

Looks like another pleasant day to meander around the Back Cove. Next weekend you will see runners and walkers taking part in the Trail to Ale 10K, an annual fundraiser for Portland Trails, passing through this section of trail. There's still time to register for the race here.

Victoria Mansion, Summer 2015

A view of the Victoria Mansion, also known as the Morse-Libby House, on Danforth Street. According to the home's website, it was originally built as a summer home, and it is "widely recognized as the most important expression of the Italian villa style in American domestic architecture."
