Martin's Point Bridge, 2014
I did a quick walk-by of the new Martin's Point Bridge today. A "grand opening bash" was held along the pedestrian and bicycle walkway on the east side of the bridge and along the Portland approach.

Martin's Point Marine Hospital
Here are some photos of the former Marine Hospital on Martin's Point. This brick Italianate building dates back to the late 1850's and was beautifully renovated a couple of years ago. The building is now part of Martin's Point Health Care.

Martin's Point Bridge
Martin's Point Bridge connects Martin's Point in Portland to Mackworth Point in Falmouth. The current bridge was completed in 1943, and is due to be replaced eventually. The department of transportation's site for the project is here, and this is an interesting powerpoint with a history of the original bridge and the current bridge.
