Steele Peaks
An entrance to Battery Steele on Peaks Island. This mysterious stone structure first appeared in 1942 and has mystified locals and graffiti artists ever since.

Battery Steele
I finally made a trip to the Battery Steele on Peaks Island today. The structure was built during World War II and deactivated shortly after in 1948. It is now in a public land preserve and as of 2005 is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
