Payson Park

With recreation fields, baseball diamonds, open space, and some good views of the peninsula, one should venture to Payson Park. You can see it in this Portland Trails map, at the top center. I'm not sure exactly who it is named after or how long it's been there, but it is connected to the Back Cove trail and is a popular place most of the year.

  4. Hey Corey,
Thanks for coming by my blog and leaving your kind words. I love your blog and the vantage point from which you often shoot your photos.

The leaves turning in this park photo makes me homesick for good old Portland, Maine. (sigh). I love visiting your blog and seeing my home town in photos. You do a great job of it! xo

  7. Payson Park was named after Edward Payson:

His nickname was Praying Payson, because of his avid prayer life.

Our daughter, Paysie (given name Payson), is named after him!
